About the Florida United Methodist Children's Home

The Florida United Methodist Children's Home (FUMCH) is a home to many abused or abandoned children ages 5-18.  Family breakdown due to divorce, drug abuse, illness or death of a parent may be a factor for a child to be referred to the FUMCH.

The religious life is vital to the program. Residents attend Sunday morning and Wednesday services where many children share leadership roles through sharing special music, participating as ushers or acolytes and some lead worship.   "Residents use their tithes and offerings to support mission projects beyond the campus. By learning of and responding to the needs of others, the residents learn to care for themselves. The residents have the opportunity to commit themselves to a God who loves them and seeks to guide them to a full life."

About 85% fo funding for the FUMCH is private sources.  Because of strong support from churches, the Home is able to to maintain its Christian Ministry outreach commitment to children.

Burton Exceeds the 2007 Goals by 391%

As we begin a new year it is always refreshing to look back at the previous year and reflect at what we were able to accomplish for the Children's Home.  Our goal last year was to give $2,376 based on 198 members at $12.00 per member.  We gave a total of $9,298.65, or 391% of our goal. Thank you for your love and stewardship in this mission.  Praise the Lord!

Burton's 2008 Goals

As we begin a new year, it is also refreshing to have new goals and to ask our Lord to enter our hearts and our minds and help us surpass our goals. Our 2008 tentative goal is $2,376 based on 198 members at $12.00 per member.  Let's continue to show our love and stewardship through our generosity to support this important mission.
